How To Write Great Content On Forums!

Forums can be a great place to connect with people and expand your business. This is a free internet marketing tool that can bring you many customers. The drawback to forum marketing is the amount of time you must invest. If you are serious about becoming successful, you won't have a problem with this. Here are some strategies that will help you.

1. Write original material. You always want to make sure that everything you write is original. Your credibility will be lost by copying articles. Also, your facts need to be completely accurate. Making incorrect statements will also hurt your credibility.

2. Be consistent. Writing one or two posts will not bring you substantial results. What you want to do is spend at least an hour per day writing. As you might know, ninety percent of success is showing up. If you show up everyday you will have lots of great content on the forum.

3. Stay positive. Forums are just like any other interaction with people. There will be members who are always negative. What you want to do is completely ignore them. There is never a need to argue with people on a forum.

4. Quality. Take your time to create great content. One strong thread might get hundreds of views. You want every piece of information to enhance the reader in some way. If you are there to help others, they will be more likely to do business with you. When your only motivation is money, it will be difficult to write quality material.

5.You don't always have to be an expert. Staying humble is a good way to gain respect. While it is effective to start threads. You can also ask questions and learn new strategies. It's always a good idea to learn from your competitors.

6. Make a great signature. If you are promoting your business on the forum, you want a signature that stands out. Use some color if possible. Write some information about your site and offer a free ebook. This is the only time it is acceptable to promote your site. This brings us to my next point.

7. Never sell. Your signature is the only place appropriate for promotion. Forums are not created to be a list of sales pages. If you offer valuable information, people will click your link. As long as you are consistent, you will be successful.

4 Brilliant Things You Can Do to Get Website Traffic From YouTube

So if you are looking for traffic within this age bracket, here are 4 smart things you can do to get website traffic from YouTube.

Study the Competition

You have to do this especially if you are a newbie on YouTube. Take time out to feel around and get used to the videos getting the most views and comments. You will find music videos, music scenes, gaffes, reality footages, documentaries and of course marketing videos there.

When you find something related to your niche, note it down. Is the video getting loads of views? What do you think it is missing? Do your own video and put your own personal spin to it. You will definitely get views.

Have a Heart

YouTube is free and there are millions of videos people can choose from. But beware it takes the smallest of things to turn them off. So do not make long videos or visual content that take eternity to load.

If you do not adhere to this, people will be avoiding your videos like the black plague. The most viewed videos on YouTube are not more than 5 minutes in length. YouTube is generous by offering a maximum of 10 minutes.

However, keep your videos within 5 minutes and use.MPG, AVI. or.WMV format, for quick viewing.

Allow Your Videos Entertain

YouTube is not where you give a speech or product presentation. Do not sell a product on YouTube. You are meant to generate interest and direct traffic to your site.

That is the way it works. Put something funny, exciting or controversial on YouTube and add your URL at the end of the video.

Viewers would want to see more from where that came from. And would be willing to give your site a look-in. This is where your marketing begins.

Word of Mouth

Once you have uploaded you videos and tagged them appropriately. Get your buddies and family to comment on them. Nothing gets you going like a 5 star rating. Let them throw in a few comments as well to build up activity around your video.

Your biggest undoing will be to upload a video and tell yourself it's a job well done. You still need to rev up some targeted traffic to your video to get it noticed among viewers and the good guys at YouTube.

Remember to milk this site for what it is worth, you need to make videos that are interesting. Demonstration videos or how to do stuff works great every time and is a cool way to show you are an authority in the field.

It is also a smart way to build a rapport with your prospects. Make time out to post videos consistently. Ask yourself, is this a one-off or are you willing to put videos on YouTube at least every 2 weeks.

Online Income Blog: Beware of the Hype!

Online Income Blog Content Creation... and the Power of Persistence

When you're just learning how to make money with your online income blog, the power of persistence is golden. Undoubtedly, you've seen online income blog advertisements that promise money coming out of the sky.

But I'm here to tell you that it doesn't happen like that. At least not without the power of persistence.

In fact, statistics reveal that most people, on average, need to be approached seven times before deciding to buy. Seven times? OMG! Who in the heck would ever do that? But that's how the power of persistence can help you in your business, not matter what the business is.

Fortunately, when you have an internet income blog, people can just "sell themselves, as they come back to your blog over and over again. And what's to make sure that happens? Keep in mind, we're living in the entertainment age where people would rather be entertained than sold. For example, do you watch TV for the programs or the commercials? Do you usually leave the room when the commercial starts?

My point exactly. That's why it's important to load up your blog page with lots of images and videos. I like to make sure that every image I insert on my blog also has a video behind it for the curious guy who clicks the image. The more entertaining you can make your post, the more traffic you'll get.

And, the more entertaining you can make your post, the longer people will stay on your blog, which will make Google recognize it as becoming popular, therefore granting a higher ranking.

But where does the power of persistence come into play with your online income blog?

I know how frustrating it can be when you first get your online income blog and you get the feeling that you're just left out here in "left field". And, in reality, you are... until people start noticing your content.

My first blog had an Alexa score of over six million (that means I my site was among the top six million on the net) - whooped do! LOL

I don't what you to go through the struggles that I had to (although a certain amount of struggle is always necessary to achieve success). So it's for this reason that I just want to impress on you a few truths about the power of persistence...

When you first start off with your online income blog, don't be discouraged by these "power of persistence" truths:

1) I didn't start receiving my first comments on my blog site until I was marketing for almost a year.

2) I didn't achieve my first online sale until I'd been marketing for a little over a year.

3) Marketers who tell you that "it's easy" and they're making $15,000 a month and people are just coming out of the woodwork all over the place are telling the truth. However, they just don't tell you about the initial five years they worked night and day blogging and creating videos, and they don't tell you about the $6,000 they spent on online training courses.

"Look Ma, an overnight success! Only took me 5 years!"

4) Even the famous Dave Wood who made all his income with an online income blog took 6 weeks before he even got his first lead.

5) It's not like the "Field of Dreams" (build it and they will come)... you have to learn how to promote your online income blog so it will start bringing you income online.

That's the gist of it.

The reason I'm telling you this is not to discourage you. On the upside, I'm a woman in her late 50's who has now learned how to make large amounts of money online, and I'd like to bring new hope to people like me who believe they might have to work 'till then die and become Wal-Mart greeters in their late 70's.

I'd like to bring you hope because, when it comes to making money with internet sales, you have to be patient, and you have to have faith. And, you have to keep learning.

Because, let's face it, the industry is always changing. I remember when people could make a killing with Google PPC. These days you'll lose everything you got if you go that route before knowing what you're doing. And FaceBook is also tightening up on what ads they will allow.

That's why I believe that an online income blog is the way of the future. While it's a known fact that people tend to want to buy from people they know, like, and trust, your blog is the "internet you"... with your picture, your videos, and your personal stories. There is where it's really important to be yourself... because you don't want to be pegged as a "phony" and start getting thumbs down on your videos!

Why is the Power of Persistence so important with your Online Income Blog?

Because with blogging, your links are bouncing around and it takes time before people start taking notice. In the beginning, if you're used to working at your J-O-B and making money every hour, this sucks. But over time, in the long run, this is really a good thing. Because once your links are out there, people who see your online income blog will want more information, and they'll be selling themselves.

They'll be looking at your images, your videos, and reading your information... while you might be sleeping or even on vacation! So when you stop working, your links keep on working for you!

But now I have a short cut for you with an online income blog to get off to a faster start...

When I first started linking by blog to a power high page ranking team blog site, my Alexa score started going down every day, revealing that my own personal blog was becoming more and more popular!

Why is that important? Because Google ranks blog pages on two things: relevancy and popularity. When you learn the right strategies of keyword research and you put your keyword phrase throughout your blog post, you're making that page relevant. But popularity can be a little trickier.

Wedding Anniversary Symbols

Most people are aware that significant wedding anniversaries such as 25th and 40th are linked to precious stones, in these cases silver and ruby. However, it is less well known that all anniversaries up to and including the 15th, and then every 5th anniversary, have their own particular symbol. The list below shows the symbol traditionally associated with each anniversary.

ANNIVERSARY

1st - Paper

2nd - Cotton

3rd - Leather

4th - Books

5th - Wood

6th - Sugar, candy

7th - Wool, cooper

8th - Bronze, pottery

9th - Pottery, willow

10th - Tin, aluminium

11th - Steel

12th - Silk, linen

13th - Lace

14th - Ivory

15th - Crystal

20th - China

25th - Silver

30th - Pearl

35th - Coral

40th - Ruby

45th - Sapphire

50th - Gold

60th - Diamond

75th - Diamond

The Silver (25th) and Golden (50th) Anniversaries appear to be the most traditional. In Central Europe going back hundreds of years a man would present his wife with a silver or golden garland to mark the occasion of their anniversary.

The other materials have been added to the list more recently, and there is now a more modern list which incorporates the missing years 16-19. Amazingly, a ten carat diamond has been added for a 100th Wedding Anniversary! How many couples will get that far?

The traditional version is still preferred by most people.

Do Your Employees Understand Your Road Assistance Service Plan?

Does your company have a road assistance service plan in place for employees that drive your vehicles? This is something that more businesses are taking advantage of because they realize just how valuable this type of protection is. It can help save you money and keep your business running smoothly by getting an employee stranded on the side of the road back up and running again.

This makes it a vital factor in the success of your company especially if you have a lot of company vehicles. More importantly, it shows that you care about the health and welfare of your workers. However, this type of service won't be very beneficial if your employees don't know what to do when an emergency occurs.

Educate Your Employees about Your Road Assistance Service Plan

It's vital that your employees know exactly what to do in the event they run into an emergency when on the road in a company vehicle. They should have all of the details about the plan you have, so they know what coverage they have during an emergency. For example, does your plan cover a locksmith if the keys are locked in the car? Will it cover minor mechanical issues like changing a fan belt or a water hose or will the vehicle need to be towed if something like this happens?

They should also have the name and number of the company providing the service so they know whom to contact if something does happen. Being prepared and knowing what to do when faced with an emergency will save valuable time. It will help that employee get out of a bad situation and back to work much faster.

What to Do While Waiting for Road Assistance Service to Arrive

Knowing what to do while waiting for the roadside assistance to arrive is just as important as knowing who to call. Here are a few tips that can help keep the driver safe during their wait. The first thing to do is get the vehicle out of the flow of traffic as quickly as possible. Once the vehicle is off the road, you should remain inside the automobile until help arrives.

If you absolutely cannot move the vehicle, turn on the emergency flashers and as soon as it's safe, raise the hood of the vehicle. Use flares to warn other drivers there is a problem. Then, move to a safe location away from traffic as fast as possible.

The next step is to take note of your location and call the emergency roadside service for help. They will need to know where to send help so use mile markers, landmarks, businesses and anything else you can to make it easy for them to find you. If at any time you feel like you are in danger due to where you're broken down, call 911 for help.

When your employees know what to do before help arrives and who to call, it will make the road assistance service plan even more effective. It will also help to keep your employees safe when traveling in a company vehicle and get them going again much faster.

Good Friends, Great Life!

While I was in high school, I developed this habit of always watching people and how they responded to things. When I'm walking, when I'm talking, and when I'm eating, I love to watch people. I don't know why I do it, but I think it's just my curiosity of wanting to understand all of the various human characteristics.

About two years ago, in one of my high school math classes, I met this unbelievably down to earth girl (let's call her Sarah), but she always seemed to be sad. Everyday when I had class with her, I would try to take a look at her when I can to observe and perhaps better understand why she seemed so sad. Later as I began to talk to her I soon found out why and I was shocked: she always gone out with the wrong guys and some of them raped her.

I was in disbelief. I have so much respect for girls and when I find out that other guys mistreat girls I often get quite angry about it. However, in this case as I kept on talking with her, I couldn't believe why she let things like this happen. She seemed so strong, so focused, so appreciative of life, but she let herself hang out with the wrong people.

Life is a series of light and darkness. We all want to be in the sunshine, feeling the warmth, that great feeling when you're out in the sunshine. At times cloudy storms tend to disrupt that light, making us feel uncomfortable and uneasy. However, we can always get back in the light; we can always push the darkness away: light and darkness cannot be in the same room.

I have this quote hanging up in my room and I live it everyday: "you are who your friends are." In my life I try to be around positive and successful people because that is who I am. I know that may sound selfish and egotistical, but you must set high standards for yourself. If you want to lead and achieve, you must receive the friends who fit your standards. Your standards are there to protect you and to guide you to success, don't lower it for anyone or anything or you'll regret it for the rest of your life.

As for Sarah, I am truly sorry for her and the things that the guys have done to her, but she shouldn't have been there in the first place. She shouldn't continually be around the same negative people who may do those kind of things. She needs to understand the power of saying "no". It's not rude in life to sometime say no to the wrong people, it's not rude at all. If you were driving down the highway and you noticed a road block, you wouldn't try to run into it. You would go around it or move it aside. That's the way you must be with your friends: life is short, you don't have time for people that will bring you down or hinder your success.

As Eminem said in his rap song "lose yourself", you have one chance, one opportunity don't blow it!

The Fish Don't Care What You Wear

The fish don't care what you wear. Waders, vests and hats for fishermen are necessities to brave the elements.

Waders are a must if you are planning any surfcasting or stream wading. And what you need to know about waders, no matter how much you spend for them, they will eventually leak and new waders must be replaced.

Love to fish in the streams during the summer? Rivers are low running and are not deep; so hip waders are perfect. Why heat up in chest waders when hip waders will suffice. On the other hand, those one-piece chest-high waders are a necessity for surfcasting. Irritating sand or pea gravel cannot wedge their way into your boots.

Alternatives to chest waders are the stocking-foot waders. Stocking-foot waders are also chest-high, but anglers will require wading shoes or boots. Some anglers favor wading shoes or boots as they give added support and traction while fishing all day.

It is difficult to imagine fishing without vests. Vests are invaluable as they contain many pockets to hold such items as expensive flies or lures as well as your bug repellant. But ensure that the pockets open from the top and not the side so not to lose those valuable flies or lures. Not to imagine losing your car key.

And lastly, don't forget your fishing hat and sunglasses. You certainly do not want to get sunstroke in the hot sun as well; fishing hats shield your head from the rain. Furthermore, hats and sunglasses will protect your eyes from glaring sunlight and you can see what the fish are up to when the sun is setting in the sky. Which in fact, is the most opportune time of the day to catch that big one.

Music Business Contacts: Music Business Registry connects artists, managers, publishers, producers &

Along with his partner, Stephen Trumbull, Esra is a leading part of the number one most-reliable source of information on "who's who" and "who does what" in the music business. Best of all, they can tell you where everybody is located.

FIVE VOLUMES OF DATA.

The Music Business Registry (http://www.musicregistry.com) publishes five directories: the "A&R Registry," the "Music Publisher Registry," the "Music Business Attorney Registry" the "Film and Television Music Guide," and the "Record Producer and Recording Engineer Directory." More than one music industry executive has told me that the Music Business Registry publications are worth their weight in platinum. Tess Taylor, president of NARIP (National Association of Record Industry Professionals), says "I couldn't get through one day without the directories from the Music Business Registry. These publications are the finest in the business."

Each directory tells you how to reach industry professionals by regular mail, e-mail, direct dial telephone and fax. The books provide each person's exact title, street address, the name of their assistant and the styles of music in which each executive specializes. Web sites are also included.

7 Ways to Rediscover Your True Passion after Divorce

Going through a divorce is a very challenging time in a person's life. It is hard to adjust to being single again, as well as living "out of the habit" of being married, especially if you have been married for many, many years.

Eventually, you begin to think about dating, but it is suggested that you take your time. Use this precious opportunity to rediscover yourself. Think of this time in your life as an adventure to explore the real you. If you have worked outside the home combined with being a mom and wife for the last ten, fifteen or twenty years, you may have lost yourself along the way. Certainly not on purpose, but as most women try to do it all as "super" moms, many times we put our own wants and needs on hold to keep our families and jobs running smoothly!

Take a deep breath and let's start to rediscover our true passions and say... Will the Real Me Please Stand Up!

1) Treasure Your Gifts Within Realizing we are all born as "gold nuggets" is a hard concept for many women to believe about themselves. Think about how magnificent you really are! Over time, you might have forgotten your unique gifts and are only thinking of what you don't like about yourself or your life. Set a new intention, starting today, to list all of your great qualities and read that list everyday. Keep reading it until you believe it. Examples: beautiful smile, kindness, generosity, loving, caring, intelligent. keep going. Your list is endless, when you start focusing on your great qualities. Allow yourself to see the shining gold within. It's already there!

2) Give Yourself A Break During and after a divorce it is common to have the feeling of grieving, similar to that of the loss of someone. Many women feel the need to stay busy to keep their minds off of this stressful time, such as working overtime or cleaning the house from top to bottom, but let this time also include pampering yourself. For example, barter with a friend or neighbor to watch your children or leave work early to give yourself this needed time. Yes, you do deserve to do something special for yourself. It can be as simple as taking a bath or a walk, going to the mall or reading a book with your favorite cup of tea. Give yourself permission - it's O.K. Remember, the happier you are, the happier your family will be!

3) No regrets! No bitterness! Holding onto regrets and bitterness will only keep your life from moving forward. Is your inner voice working overtime with all the "what ifs" and "if onlys"? This is normal for a period of time, but ask yourself.are these thoughts serving me or helping me feel better? Will thinking about them over and over again change anything? To move your life forward, it is important to acknowledge your feelings and to learn from your past experiences to prepare yourself for the next exciting chapter of your life. Yes, there is life after divorce. Learn to let it go! Just, let it go! A quote from Buddy Hackett, "I never hold a grudge because while I am being angry, the other person is out dancing."

4) Enjoy the Little Things Life after divorce usually means added responsibilities. If you are a single parent or are now the one responsible for the once shared to-do list, how do you handle it all without being totally stressed out? To start, learn to laugh more, especially at yourself. Learn to let things go and not take life so seriously. Lighten-up! Learn to live in the present moment. Living in the present is where all the "good stuff" in life happens. Yesterday is gone forever and tomorrow's worries are tomorrow. Think of it this way, when one is missing this moment in time, one is missing out on one's life.

So how do we live in the present? If you are feeling stressed, immediately leave your thoughts in your head and take off your blinders. (Blinders similar to what a horse would wear, not allowing it to see from side to side). Start to look around you. I mean really look around you. Look closely at everything. Really focus. Use all your senses! For example, if you are with your children observe them. Cherish their smiles. Give them a hug. See the true beauty of who they are and appreciate them for being a part of your life. You will start to feel your stress subside and a feeling of peace sweep over you. To be present, no matter where you are, use all your senses to pull you back into the moment. Take time to appreciate all the beauty that already exists around you. You only have to be present to see it!

5) What Makes Your Heart Sing? What really matters to you? What do you feel is your true purpose in life? If someone asked you that question, how would you answer them?

Why is it so important to be clear on what your life's purpose is? Knowing your purpose, will give you a true sense of who you are and why you were put on this earth. It gives your life direction and helps you make clear and easy decisions concerning that direction. It's your compass! Without a purpose, can your life be compared to a piece of driftwood? Floating endlessly in whichever direction the tide decides to take it and ending up on any beach with no will of its' own. When you live your life based on your purpose you are living in integrity with yourself and are in alignment of who you really are in all aspects of your life - body, mind and spirit. Take this time to focus on what really matters to you. Feel the true passions that exist in your heart and write them down.

6) What Are Your Vibes Saying About You? Are you familiar with the Law of Attraction? Maybe you have heard the expressions, "What you think about, you bring about" or "The more attention you give to something, the more attention it will give to you." When going through a divorce, your emotions can be compared to a roller coaster ride. Use this time to become reconnected to your inner awareness of who you are. Recognize if your feelings are low energy or high energy.

A few examples of low energy are stress, negativity, fear, resentment, or a sense of lack (lack of time or money) and high energy is joy, abundance, happy, positive, love or compassion. If you are having feelings of low energy, how do you make a shift to feel more of the high energy?

First, acknowledge and accept the feelings you are having. Be gentle with yourself! Your goal is to make a shift, but realize you might not be able to go from low to high instantly. Start with baby steps! Repeat step number three and become present! Be thankful for what is working in your life right now. Do something simple like pat your pet, smell a flower or, if you are in the office, take a minute to think of a previous fun time or experience you have had that could bring a smile to your face. Feel the shift you are starting to make in your energy.

Now, to amp up this high-energy feeling, think of another time of joy or something you were passionate about in your life. Keep adding these thoughts to your high-energy feeling and begin to feel great! Does it seem the people or situations around you have changed or is it you who has really changed? So, who has the power to feel their own joy? When you are feeling your high energy, this is the time to take your next inspired action. Enjoy the feeling of accomplishing something with ease and less effort!

7) Be True To Yourself During and even after a divorce, we are often filled with doubts. We question ourselves about what is right, what to do or how we feel. Should I or shouldn't I? It seems difficult to make a decision. Listen to your heart. What feels right? What doesn't feel quite right? If a situation does not feel right, honor your resistance by pausing or waiting. Sometimes waiting is the best thing to do. By waiting you may have allowed the situation to unfold more easily without having to worry! If a decision feels good or right, usually that means you are heading in the right direction. When we listen to our hearts, we are in integrity with ourselves. When we are in integrity with ourselves, we learn to say NO more easily.

Has this ever happened to you? You are asked to be on a committee or to volunteer for something and you say yes, even though you know it will make your schedule even tighter or you really don't want to or have to?

How do you stop this from happening? Next time you are in this situation and you are ready to say yes, yet, find yourself having doubts, try this . STOP! Take a breath or even take a step back (this action will prevent you from saying yes). Pause! Thank the person for thinking of you, but let them know you will have to check your calendar and get back to them. When you do have time to think about it, focus on how you are feeling. Are you excited to volunteer or do you feel some resistance? If in a day or two you are still feeling doubtful, realize the timing might not be right for you. If you are still excited, join the committee and have fun!

Divorce is not easy or fun, but you can make it through this time of your life by realizing you WILL make it! Also, honor yourself and listen to your heart! Your true purpose and passions are waiting to be rediscovered within you! When you have discovered the "gold nugget" you already are, you will start to live your life with more ease and enjoy the feeling of peace. "You are truly free!"

A Look into Sociology

Sociology is an intricate study of humankind on many forms. Whether it be focused on the individual, the family, or a city, sociology takes an in depth look at humanity itself and analyzes it from many different angles. These are just a few examples of how sociology can analyze the subject. This article will examine six significant factors and give a better look on sociology itself.

First there are general basics. Sociology has its roots in the Enlightenment. With the want for more information, more understanding of the world, man started to focus on the very thing he created himself: society. Humankind began to analyze everything and anything that they could. It wasn't surprising when they started to really analyze themselves. This, in a way, is what sociology is. Sociology is the study of human behavior, from its origins to its evolutions. It is the analysis of the development of mankind.

With the increase in human development, there became a higher variety of human-life. It changed form as it moved across the world, from rural to urban, from one religion to another, from one race to another. This is why sociology is important to the world. It breaks down all the information and reorganizes it most effectively.

Sociology is a science like many others, though it is quite different in the same way. Closest to it might be psychology, though different on many levels. What makes sociology an unique science is its focus on humanity. Though seemingly easy at first, after a good look one can recognize the complex behavior of mankind that has evolved over thousands of years from having a society. This makes sociology important both to the present and the future, for it takes what has happened in the past and present and uses the information effectively in understanding groups, individuals, and society itself.

Like a science, there are many different ways one can study and record this information. Surveys are one of the major ones. There are also observational studies and experiments. Sociological experiments can be like other scientific ones, with variables for scientific research, but lots of the times the answers aren't so simple. It takes a good eye and mind to analyze the data, making sociology a more delicate process in the long run.

The second item to focus on is culture. Culture is the grouping of specific mindsets that have developed over time in certain parts of the world, allowing any scientist or onlooker to realize general differences between groups and make general recognitions this way. Thus said, it is an important factor to take into account when dealing with sociological information. There are so many different cultures in the world that they act like variables in giant analytic experiments for the sociologist.

Culture can be broken down into many different aspects or parts. One important one to note is language. Language both creates barriers and brings worlds together. Different languages cause speed bumps in scientific or any form of study throughout the world. It is but one way people can be so different from each other. But the very act of language, or the development of it both psychologically and historically have a strong impact on sociology. It brings insight further into the culture of the people being studying and allows the sociologist more key and individual information. Almost like religion and politics, language has a unique way of developing that reflects both on the culture and history of those that use it, finding its roots being mixed and interwoven like many of the people who make use of it.

A third important item to focus on is the social structure. The social structure is the creation of different levels in society throughout the world to better define and understand how society itself works. It is not man made in that people can decide how many layers there are to society or the different reactions between different levels. It is an evolution of society itself, changing from culture to culture or place to place.

Social structure can be broken down into looking at society as having different statuses and different roles. Individuals are not all equal as much as humankind would like to think it sometime. Through hard work, misfortune, or pure luck people find themselves on different levels of society compared to the person standing next to them or even the person they were a month, week, or day ago. Status can be looked at as the person's worth through society's eyes. People tend to use this as the way to judge others quickly. Though not necessarily negative in that there are different statuses, it has for the most part been associated with a negative, almost snooty view when used to analyze others. Role is much deeper, though, and can defy status in many different ways. While status can be looked at as almost just a term or some physical measurement of humans in society, the role is a much deeper, more personal experience. This is to say that it is not so clear what everyone's role is on first glance. Through careful study and critiquing, one could evaluate another or a whole group and come to a logical assumption or even answer to what their role is, but for the most part it is more of a show and tell kind of deal. It is not evident always, nor is the level of evidence equal from one to another. Simply, it is the bond that an individual has with society, telling their purpose on how they hold the society together.

A good part of culture, sociology, and society are groups. Not everything is on the individual level. The size of the group affects the effectiveness of productivity. Too small of a group might lead to too many unanswered questions, while too large could grow so complex that many overlooked factors have been uncounted for. The perfect size, this balance between small and large, between answerable and countable, is not clear. It is dependent on the answers and topic that is being questioned at the time. One might need a large group to make references about a whole city, province or even country. On the other hand, a smaller group might give better information about a specific area or classing or even status in a certain place or time.

These groups could be societies themselves. Societies are merely just humans grouped by distinguishable differences in culture, mind, history, relationship, and teachings. It appears to be a complicated system of organization, but it is no different in culture, religion, or role/status in its way of defining and dedicating answers to truth. It can be used to find common grounds and further separate viewpoints and information from larger groupings. Societies are very important groups of people, both to the real world and to sociology.

The fourth important item is socialization. Socialization is the way of converting or forming into the very definitions of society. This is a great way to show how humans differentiate from other animals. The complexity of our societies and groups is what defines us as humans, accounted with our rationality of course. Our interaction with each other is at a much more vital and intricate level. We go beyond the instinctive world and step into rationality. This is what makes our forms of communication, our languages, our social behaviors the way they are. This is what makes us so easily adaptable in the world. We are so heavily reliant on some form of socialization, that to think of world without it would mean thinking of a world without humans. Without it there would be no structure, no balance, nor order to our ways. We would be almost like primitive homo sapiens and other ancient races of man, only worse because we would be going from socialization and not towards it.

The fifth major factor in sociology is race and ethnicity. Like culture and religion, race can play an important role to a society and its social structure. A certain race can bring benefits to itself in one place while another can be discriminated against with equality. Even still, one race can experience both extremes throughout the world and even in the same proximity. Races, ethnicities and groups can be broken down into majority and minority. This is like most social classing. Majority refers to the more populace or the ones that have the most power in that given area. Minority is just in the opposite, referring to the weaker of the two either size/numbers or politics/power.

It is important to note the difference between race and ethnicity here. Race refers to the grouping of people through biological similarities and histories while ethnicity is created from both racial and cultural ties, making it not necessarily inherit in that it's physically in a person's blood, but inherit in that it is so tightly woven to the history of the person and his/her people that it has been a kind of grouping. Though there are some that will deny races exist at all, scientists have generally agreed on there being only three races. Humans in general assume or at least say there are many more, confusing both races and ethnicity with each other and other groups. By the common human's understanding of the word race, it is so misunderstood that it has no biological reference whatsoever. But on scientific terms, race would require an evolutionary viewpoint to accept it as been true.

The sixth item and factor is gender. Gender plays an important part in sociology like any of the humane sciences. There is a definite difference between man and woman. This is the case both physically and mentally (though in some instances the two are interrelated by definition in psychology). Sex is the more scientific look upon the situation, while gender is the social. While both imply the two different forms of sexual creatures, male and female, the word sex tends to just refer to this while gender also implies the identity created by this distinction in both society and cultures.

There are numerous other factors to sociology, but these are six of the most important and first focused on when researching across the world. In truth, the structure of society, of mankind and all things it has created, is a complex and delicate one. Each piece is carefully placed, woven, tied and held there by another. So tight they are that if one falls it is hard to tell how many will follow suit. Just as much as we can not say what event will move us in the next direction, we can not know what event will slow us down, stop us, or even be our downfall. Sociology can only understand the here and now.

Four Myths About Making a Medical Negligence Claim

On very rare occasions, medical procedures go wrong. And when they do, it leads to far much more than further injury to the patient. Stress, loss of earnings and emotional issues can all result from an act of medical negligence, and sometimes the only option is to make a legal claim for compensation.

But some people choose not to make a claim because of myths that surround the medical and legal professions.

They think that they're limited to hiring a local firm who may not be the best people for the job. They think that the process of claiming is complicated and incredibly expensive. And they think that they will be forced to wait for years to reach a resolution.

If you believe these myths, you're cheating yourself out of the compensation that you're due. So read on and find out why claiming for clinical negligence is easier than you think.

1: You Need to Choose a Local Company

Many claimants think that when it comes to hiring a solicitor, you need to choose a firm that's close to where you live - regardless of what they specialise in, or whether they're employing the best solicitors for the job.

This isn't the case. Choosing the most qualified solicitor is far more important than choosing the closest firm. Top firms will be happy to work with clients further afield - even if they're based in the south of England, they'll take on cases all over the country, and the world.

2: Making a Claim is Complicated

Some people also think that if they want to claim for negligence, they'll be forced to fill out thousands of complex forms, answer ridiculously complicated questions and learn obscure facts about the legal process.

This myth is completely false and ignores the key part of making a claim. Your solicitor will handle the complicated parts for you. After all, that's why lawyers spend years learning how to specialise in their preferred field.

3: Suing a Medical Professional is Always Expensive

The third myth is that once a case of medical negligence has left you out of pocket, you'll be unable to afford the expert legal advice needed to pursue a successful claim against the negligent party.

Again, this doesn't ring true. The most successful solicitors' firms know that different people have to work to different budgets - and they tailor their prices and packages to suit. So no matter whether you've got money to spend, or negligence has left you scraping by, if you have a legitimate claim then top negligence solicitors will be able to help you.

4: It Takes Years to Reach a Resolution

The final myth is the timescale. Television shows have shown defendants stringing cases out for years, in order to cheat the claimants out of their rightful compensation.

And as with many things, television doesn't tell the full story. While some complex, high profile cases can last for years, the average case is settled quickly and with a minimum of stress and fuss, meaning that you'll have access to your compensation sooner than you might think.

So now you know the truth about making a claim because of clinical or medical negligence, there's nothing stopping you from claiming the compensation that you rightly deserve. Just get in touch with a professional, Law Society accredited firm of solicitors, and let them know that you need their help

Account Management - How to Manage Accounts to Maximize Sales

Congratulations! You successfully sold one or more of your company's products or services to a business unit, department, or division of a large organization. Now your manager has tasked you with "account management". If you are not already familiar with account management, you are probably asking yourself the following questions:

What is "Account Management"? What skills and talents are required to excel in Account Management? What activities must be performed to maximize Account Management ROI?

Providing answers to these questions is the focus of this article.

What is Account Management?

Account management is actually a synonym for account penetration. Just because you have sold one product or service to one business entity within an organization doesn't mean your job is done. Think of all the additional opportunities that may exist in the account! For example:

Does your company offer additional products or services that might be a "fit" for this customer? How many other business units, departments, divisions, and subsidiaries are potential prospects for your company's offering(s)? Required Skills and Talents

A critical talent for successful account management is the ability to build relationships, as relationship selling is a very effective way to increase account penetration. Another critical skill/talent is organization. If you are going to manage large accounts effectively, you need to be willing and able to keep meticulous records.

What kinds of records do you need to keep? Picture a large, three-dimensional spreadsheet in your mind. In the left-hand column is a list of every product and service that you could possibly sell to a customer. Across the top of the spreadsheet are all of the business units, departments, divisions, and other business entities that make up your account's entire organization. Behind each business entity is every contact you know within that business entity.

Armed with this mental picture, ask yourself the following questions:

Which business entities are you doing business with? Which business entities are you NOT doing business with? Where are the various business entities located? Which products and services does each business entity already purchase from you? Which products and services are they NOT purchasing from you? Who do you know in each business entity? Which of these contacts have you already asked for referrals and testimonials? What referrals and testimonials have they given you?

Required Activities

Hopefully your organization has some type of CRM (Client Relationship Management) software application to help you keep track of your answers to these questions. If you don't have access to a corporate CRM system, here are some other options:

You can purchase a software package like ACT! Or GoldMine? You can subscribe to an online service like salesforce.com? You can track information using a spreadsheet, database, or e-mail program?

Next, plan your tactics for increasing account penetration by considering the following questions:

What process will you use to regularly expose each of your contacts in the account to your company's entire portfolio of products and services? Who can provide testimonials that will help you win business in other business units, departments, or divisions in the account? Who can refer you to new contacts in other business units, departments, or divisions in the account?

Why is it necessary to repetitively expose your contacts to your company's entire portfolio of products and services? Because they forget! I can tell you from personal experience that there is nothing more frustrating than finding out a customer has placed a large order with another salesperson...and the only reason they didn't give you the order was because they didn't know or remember that you could fill it!

Is There More to Account Management?

There can be, but activities focused on increasing account penetration make up the critical core. Account management does become more complex if a team of people is managing a regional, national, or global account, but most of the complexity pertains to coordinating the activities of the team members.

Don't make account management more complex than it needs to be! The basic goal is to maximize account penetration. Look for opportunities to sell every product and service in your portfolio to >every business entity (business unit, department, division, etc.) in the account. Make maximum use of referrals and testimonials to help you initiate new relationships. Regularly remind all of your contacts of the full breadth of your portfolio of products and services. Be organized and keep meticulous records. If you do these things, you should be amply rewarded for your efforts!

Have Some PASTA with Your Interview

When cyclists prepare for a big race, they always make sure they load up on the carbs. It is not uncommon to have a pasta feed the night before an important event so that the athletes can store up some of the carbohydrates they will be burning up the next day. The same goes for preparing for an interview. A candidate for a job, preparing for that all-important interview, needs to take in some PASTA. However, it isn't the same kind of pasta, but it is something that will energize, fortify and maximize a person's chances in having a successful interview.

Here is the PASTA that is being suggested: P, prepare thoroughly; A, attitude adjustment; S, start the interview off smartly; T, tips to be followed; and A, after-the-interview follow-up. These five steps can provide a level of preparation, comfort, and professionalism that should impress the decision makers with your performance under pressure and to demonstrate your abilities and attributes in the best light.

How does one prepare (P) for an interview? You would be surprised how many people do absolutely nothing or very little in this realm. However, this is the one thing that you have completely in your control. Consider the following tasks that can be done in order to be more prepared than your competition: anticipate a question as an opener about qualifications and background ; anticipate a closing that will allow for you to wrap up and review your qualifications; write out the answers to the anticipated questions; practice or rehearse how you will deliver those answers; re-read your application; and visualize how you will present yourself verbally and non-verbally. Spending time on this first step will give you confidence and practice that will help you relax, or at least curb some of the nervousness during the actual interview.

Attitude (A) or your overall demeanor is a dominant factor that will influence how the interviewer or panel perceives you and your personality. It is important to be positive in all ways that you express yourself and to always be courteous to everyone with which you come into contact. It is a good thing to be mildly assertive, but not aggressive or arrogant. Show that you believe in yourself and know that you are being judged on your attitude, work ethic, intelligence and honesty. In establishing your positive attitude think about what the employer wants in their employees, which will most likely include all or some of the following: self starter, dependable, easy to work with, works well under pressure, manages time effectively, could handle a crisis situation successfully, could handle constructive criticism, and concentrates on the needs of the company over personal needs.

Starting the interview (S) is the precise point where a first impression will be made. Many times a candidate thinks that the first question of the interview is the actual beginning of the interview. In reality it begins when the candidate enters the room and is introduced. It is important to be on time, even early, to mentally prepare to be called into the interview room. Remember that there will be small talk that the interviewer(s) will remember. The handshake, which should be firm, and the smile, which should be sincere, go a long way in establishing a rapport with the decision makers. In addition, grooming and appearance will be two areas in which to take extra care and time. It will pay off big dividends. Make your first impression a positive and pleasant experience.

The tips (T) that can put professionalism into actual responses to questions are cloaked in many details. They are small, but extremely significant, elements in the overall interview process. Realize that your articulation and vocabulary is being scrutinized thoroughly. Using "kinda, yeah, and gonna" are some words to avoid. Make sure your responses are concise, specific, and not rambling. Your responses, as a rule, should be no longer than 2 minutes. You need to make sure that you are honest and focused. It is important that abilities and accomplishments not be exaggerated. Your demeanor should be one of openness, confidence and enthusiasm. Eye contact is a must, along with natural gestures that help you establish a connection or rapport with the interviewer(s). If you are asked to tell about what a former employer would say about you, put it in quote form to specifically provide details of their assessment of you. Above all, do not ever use the phrases, "To be honest or in all honesty." It could give the impression that you aren't honest in other areas. Picture yourself confident, leaning forward, chin up, not fidgeting. Visualize success.

After the interview (A), a follow up routine can be most impressive to the interviewer(s). Besides thanking them at the interview when you stand up to leave, following up with a personalized letter is a very appropriate thing to do. If you do not get the position, it is also appropriate to ask for feedback on how your interview could have been improved. Many human resources administrators will willingly schedule an appointment to review the strengths and weaknesses of the interview.

If you didn't get the position, don't burn any bridges with the company or organization. Just because you did not get the first one for which you applied, does not mean that you won't get another position that opens up. A lot has to do with whether you are perceived as "a fit for the particular position." Always try to understand whether your particular qualifications and experiences are a good match with the expectations of a specific position. Staying with the five steps (PASTA) will help you prepare and help you get an edge on those who are just relying on luck. Get prepared and remember the fundamentals.

What and Why? Pet Bird Cage Accessories

Your pet bird's environment is a vital part of its wellbeing, and once you have selected the proper pet bird cage, the next step is choosing accessories. Imagine living in a house without any dishes, no comfortable places to sit, and no color or decorations. This is what an unaccessorized cage feels like to your pet bird.

Pet birds eat throughout the day and require fresh water at all times. Choose feeding cups and bowls that are an appropriate size for your bird and are easily cleaned and sanitized. One option for feeding is the Tidy Seed Birdfeeder, which attaches inside or outside of the cage and helps contain the mess that birds often make by sorting and tossing pellets, seeds and hulls. These clear acrylic feeders have a built in perch and are easily removed for cleaning. Other options are stainless steel bowls, crocks with wire holders that attach to the cage and even specially designed treat and millet holders. Consider having multiple bowls on hand so there is always a clean bowl ready to go.

The "furniture" for your bird's home is next. Perches are important to pet birds, as they provide different vantage points and interest. It's always best to choose a cage with extra space to allow for perches at several different levels. You'll need to select several perches of varying sizes appropriate for your bird to encourage foot exercise and prevent fatigue and injury. Swings and ladders can be a source of activity for a pet bird, adding some interest to the environment. Snugglies and snoozies are a nice addition to the cage as well, providing a safe and cozy place for the bird to sleep. You'll also want to have cover to put over the cage at night, especially if noise and light will prevent the bird from getting a good night's rest.

Just as you have favorite colors and decorations in your home, along with plenty of gadgets to keep you occupied, birds need stimulation and entertainment in their cage. Toys let curious birds play and investigate new textures, colors and challenges. There are pet bird toys for all sizes of birds, and you will find that your bird has favorites. Try out a rotation of different toys to expose your bird to rope toys, chew toys, foraging toys (which simulate hunting for food in the wild), mirrors, brightly colored acrylic toys, and climbing toys and get a feel for what your bird finds exciting and fun.

Keep your bird's safety in mind when choosing bird cage accessories, and always check to see how your accessories are holding up. It's important to keep the cage and accessories clean and check for damage from playing and chewing on a regular basis.

Now that your bird's home is furnished and accessorized with some of the basics, you should find that you have a healthy and happy companion. Sit back and watch your bird enjoy his new home.

How To Build A Chicken Coop In Your Backyard

Raising chickens at home can provide a number of benefits, from tasty eggs every day to natural manure for your garden and home-grown pest control. Your backyard chickens will need a place to live. Coops can be ordered online as almost completely constructed structures or as kits that you can put together yourself. However, you can also build cheap chicken coops yourself from the ground up. It's not hard to do once you have some instructions to follow.

As with any building project you do around your home, you first need to draw up some plans. You may be tempted to free-hand draw some plans on a piece of paper or even start building without any plans, but you may find you soon run into dilemmas you didn't foresee. It's best to use detailed blueprints that provide clear instructions and diagrams.

The size and shape of your coop is determined by the number of chickens you plan to raise and their access to an outside run. Chickens need a minimum of four feet per bird, and ten feet per bird is preferable if they don't get outside. If you want to save as much money as possible by using materials already available, you'll need to look for wood previously used for other projects or scrap wood left over from construction jobs. Your neighbors or a hardware or home improvement store may be a good source of wood.

Chicken coops can be either stationary or portable housing for your flock. Stationary coops are generally used with larger flocks of chickens, while a movable chicken coop is ideal for a smaller group of birds. A portable coop can be moved to make it easier to clean or if issues arise with its present location. A small chicken coop with wheels on its legs is an excellent way to move your coop around your yard when necessary.

Your chickens will need some natural light in their home, so you have to plan where you're going to place the window in your coop. Natural sunlight plays a very important role in keeping your chickens healthy and determining when they lay their eggs as well as the number they lay. All backyard chicken coops need natural light so that you won't have to invest in electric lights, but the light that comes in through the window shouldn't shine directly on the birds. You can experiment to see how to position the coop in your yard to meet these requirements.

The chicken coop also needs to get plenty of light itself. This will help prevent the ground surrounding the coop from becoming too damp, which can cause health problems for the chickens as they scratch around in the dirt. During cold and cloudy months, supplemental electrical lighting might be necessary. By following these steps to build a chicken coop, you can soon be enjoying the benefits of having chickens on your premises.
